Day 1:

Tuesday, 13 Oct 2026 (Brussels)

EDIBLE opens in Brussels with a day dedicated to exploring the breadth and evolving possibilities of food design. Bringing together international designers, artists, educators and creative practitioners, the programme moves between talks, performances, workshops, demonstrations, tastings and exhibitions to examine food as a material, medium and tool for change. From building the food design ecosystem and rethinking protein to experimenting with sound, insects, technology and sensory perception, Day 1 invites audiences not simply to discuss the future of food, but to taste, hear, question and participate in designing it.

Day 2:

Wednesday 14 Oct 2026 (Antwerp)

EDIBLE’s second day moves to Antwerp to explore food as a carrier of culture, identity, memory and belonging. Spanning the MAS, Antwerp’s multicultural neighbourhoods, the University of Antwerp, ĀYU and Lucy’s, the programme combines walks, talks, tastings, exhibitions, workshops and performances to examine how food traditions travel, evolve and acquire new meanings. From questions of cultural ownership and diaspora to smell, symbolism and sensory storytelling, the day culminates with ENSEMBLE, a participatory Food, Art & Community Dinner celebrating food’s ability to bring different people, practices and stories around one shared table.

Day 3:

Thursday 15 Oct 2026 (Antwerp)

EDIBLE’s third day focuses on climate, resilience and the future of our food systems, connecting the choices we make around food with the larger environmental, economic and urban systems behind them. Through sensory workshops, performances, tastings, talks and panels, the programme moves from food as energy and creative practice to urgent questions of food security, endangered foods, climate resilience and the future of city food environments. Bringing together artists, chefs, designers, policymakers and food-system practitioners, Day 3 asks how we can move from awareness to action—and collectively design healthier, more sustainable and resilient ways of feeding our communities and cities.

Day 4:

Friday 16 Oct 2026 (Antwerp)

EDIBLE concludes on 16 October, UN World Food Day 2026, with Foodpilgrims: Heritage Tasting Walk, a journey from Rupelmonde to Antwerp led by food archaeologist Jeroen van Vaerenbergh. Moving beyond the conference setting, participants explore food through landscape, heritage, storytelling and tasting, uncovering connections between local ingredients, culinary traditions and the places that shaped them. After three days of imagining food futures, EDIBLE closes by looking back at the knowledge we carry with us—and asking what we should preserve as we walk towards the future of food.
